How to ensure quality assurance of a laboratory?

Modified on Mon, 16 Sep at 7:15 PM

Most laboratories that delivery quality results will be working under an ISO 17025 accreditation and will be accredited. In this case you have a quality system setup to control laboratories. All you have to do in your QMS is refer to the ISO 17025 and ensure a laboratory is properly accredited.

If they are not, or you have for example using internal analysis methods, you must ensure that the basics of ISO 17025 are followed, or another quality standard that is allowed based on your QMS. This includes that staff are competent to use equipment and that this equipment is properly used, including facility design and calibration.

We will check this during the audit and in the remote pre-assessment.
