How to detect a fake certificate from us

Modified on Mon, 16 Sep at 7:25 PM

It sometimes happens that companies attempt to recreate a certificate from one of our registers in the hope that they can appear to have a certificate for a product that does not comply with the regulations.

This is clearly fraudulent and we have taken steps to mitigate this.

All our certificates have a QR code and a long form certificate number with a standard format. By scanning the certificate you will be redirected to a url that starts with "https://cetool.[name of register].eu"

On this URL it will indicate the validity of the certificate and any conditions. Any certificate issued in our name after the 1st of July 2020 not having a QR code is not valid.

You can also send us an email with the subject line [URGENT-VALIDATION REQUEST] and we will respond within 24 hours.
